The Harbourview Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into The Harbourview Restaurant feels like settling into a comfortable nook where the rhythm of the nearby sea gently sets the tone. Nestled along the charming waterfront of Simon’s Town, this spot invites a relaxed and unhurried vibe, perfect for those who want to pause and appreciate the simple joys of fresh air, warm company, and thoughtfully prepared meals.
The space itself offers a blend of indoor coziness and outdoor openness, where seating on the verandah allows guests to catch glimpses of the bustling harbor and the quiet ebb of fishing boats. It’s the kind of place where conversations drift easily, framed by the distant sounds of lapping waves and the occasional call of seabirds. Here, casual comfort is key — from families sharing midday meals to locals unwinding after a day by the sea.
The menu echoes this unpretentious charm, focusing on staples that feel connected to the place: fresh seafood born from nearby waters, hearty game dishes, and familiar comfort plates with a twist. Whether it’s a plate of calamari shared over a glass of something crisp or a breakfast burger enjoyed with early morning light, the food encourages lingering and warmth rather than rushing. There’s an honest, lived-in quality to the meals — the kind of fare that invites you to settle in and make yourself at home.
Service here is marked by a genuine attentiveness that’s steady and welcoming, reflecting the spirit of a community spot where everyone’s a regular in the making. While the pace might occasionally reflect the laid-back coastal lifestyle, the kindness and warmth of those serving add to that sense of belonging.
Ultimately, The Harbourview Restaurant feels like a reliable, quietly vibrant corner of Simon’s Town — a place where the harbour’s presence is felt in every good-natured nod, every well-seasoned bite, and the gentle ease of shared moments by the water.

They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I had a chicken wrap and a caffe latte. The wrap could've used a little more chicken, but the sauce in it was very good. The service was also good and the water views from the outdoor seating area were nice.

Such a nice service. Served with so much love. Food is amazing. I had kingklip fish which was so good prepared. Everyone who rated less than 5 is a sinner !

Dropped in there on an organised trip & promptly shown to a verandah table with limited views of town & port. Rear tables provide better views. Also inside tables. Various drink options available & a diverse menu incl african game & seafood. Tried game medallions & my wife seafood medley. Both were ok for cafe style. Service was OK without great - had to wait for drink order to be refilled & our bill delivered. It was busy with a large group.
